Barnett Is Killed In Accident HICO (SPL) Roy Carl Barnett, 56, of Fort Worth, formerly of Hico, was killed in an auto accident near Mineral Wells Thursday night. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Barrow-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel in Hico, Rev.
Jim Crowder of Fort Worth officiating. Burial will be in Hico. Mr. Barnett was born in Hico and lived in the community until 1950 when moved to Fort Worth. He was employed by the Tex-0-Kan Transportation Co.
He was a member of the Eastland Street Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Survivors include his wife: two sons, Carl Wayne Barnett and Robert Earl Barnett, both of Fort Worth; one sister, Mrs. Bertha McQuinn of Rule; two brothers, Marion Barnett of Hicb and Claude Barnett of Hurst; and eight grandchildren. Mexia Visitor Is Heart Attack Victim MEXIA (SPL) Dewey M. Compton, 72, of Baytown, a former school superintendent, died of a heart attack Friday while visiting in Mexia.
He and his wife had been visiting for two days with her mother, Mrs. Mae Dease, of 301 South Bonham. Survivors include a Wacoan. Funeral services are pending in Baytown under the direction of Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home of Mexia. Burial will be in San Jacinto Monument Park at Baytown.
Mr. Compton was a native of Crawford, born Jan. 2, 1899, He had retired several years ago as superintendent at Batson. had previously as He superintendent at Deweyville and Camp-Ruby, He was a Methodist. His 1C- tivities included Boy Scout work and sporting events.
